HealthPartners – Little Moments Count (LMC)

Overview:

HealthPartners is a healthcare organization that provides services to over 1.8 million medical and dental health plan members nationwide. One of their initiatives, Bright Futures Begin at Birth, was dedicated to promoting the value of reading, talking, and singing to young children.

Opportunity:

The campaign required a new name and brand identity for this campaign that would resonate with and represent people from all communities (including Black, Hmong, Somali and Latinx) to help ensure cultural and linguistic relevance and competence.

Strategy:

NewPublica engaged thought leaders in early childhood education and caregivers from multicultural communities to ensure inclusivity within a broader audience, keeping in mind the cultural uniqueness of the communities we aimed to reach. NewPublica developed Little Moments Count, a campaign which showcases how minor moments with a little one can make a big difference in their cognitive development. Using the results from this engagement, NewPublica was contracted to conduct a series of listening sessions with diverse communities, in order to provide insights for the client’s upcoming media campaign. The kickoff for this engagement coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic. NewPublica quickly and effectively developed methods to conduct group sessions either online via teleconferencing services, or socially distanced and outdoors. This research provided an in-depth report on parents’ media habits, trusted messengers, and thoughts about child-rearing in their community.

Results:

This information was used to develop 88 Communications Guidelines to inform the organization’s current social media campaign. Based on our performance and insight, NewPublica has been managing the Little Moments Count’s social media campaign since the start of 2021, and we continue to expand our collaboration by assisting with the development and management of a broader media relations campaign in 2022. The Little Moments Count social media campaign, designed as a result of NewPublica’s previous engagement, research and strategic planning, has grown in reach by approximately 130% and in engagement by approximately 75%. It is expected to continue to grow at a similar in 2022.
