CEO & Co-founder
President & Co-founder
Expertise: Alberto is a leading authority on Latino media in Minnesota. As the CEO and co-founder of Latino Communications Network (LCN), now NewPublica, he produced the weekly Spanish newspaper La Prensa de Minnesota and the weekly Spanish publication Vida y Sabor. LCN also operated 24-hour Spanish radio stations 1400 and 1470 AM La Invasora, between 2005 and 2013. Alberto is a seasoned expert on marketing to the Latino community and is a regular commentator in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, Minnesota Public Radio and other Minnesota business media. Alberto was elected to the Minneapolis School Board in 2010, serving as chair from 2012 to 2014. He served on the board of the Minnesota Broadcasters Association and currently serves on the advisory editorial board of Minnesota Business Magazine.

Expertise: Melisa is an attorney with extensive experience in government affairs, community relations and public policy. She serves in the Minnesota Senate since her election in 2012. Melisa was named “40 Under 40” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal; recognized as a “Woman of Promise” by the Girl Scouts River Valleys; and as a Young Corporate Achiever by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility. Melisa is a fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria; alumni of the American Council of Young Political Leaders in Northern Ireland; and a fellow of the British American Project. Melisa volunteers on the board of the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys and Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES).

Community Engagement Director
Online & Social Media Manager
Expertise: Marc has over twenty years of experience in sales, business development and marketing in the United States, Latin America and Canada. He has launched product lines in new markets, built and led cross-functional teams and pioneered businesses and organizations toward transformative and sustainable growth domestically and internationally. Marc is also passionate about private-public alignments that improve education, health, and the tangible quality of life for children and families of color. He volunteers as board chair at Joyce Dual Immersion School, and consults on development and strategic planning.

Expertise: Iris has over fifteen years of experience in community, political, and union grassroots organizing, together giving her a unique combination of disciplines and aptitudes in community relations and communications. She's trained in best practices and techniques from Popular Education, Wellstone Action, Midwest Academy, and SEIU. Iris currently serves on the board of Rock’n’Read and is board chair of Navigate MN.

Expertise: Viviana has trained in communications and journalism focusing on digital public relations. Her experience includes online and social media strategy and implementation. She has sharpened her international communications skills by acquiring a degree in Mandarin from Tamkang University in Taiwan.

Multicultural Marketing Manager
Expertise: Jorge has more than 18 years of experience in the creative process of visual design, including web, graphic, photography and video. He has strong experience in branding to businesses and nonprofits. He creates designs for newspapers, magazines, website development and branding.

Expertise: Angela specializes in complete marketing campaigns targeting multicultural and immigrant communities in the Twin Cities developing and implementing creative marketing strategies. Her knowledge of Latino culture allows her to find unique ways to get messages across successfully. Her expertise allows her to assure that the messages engage the Latino community directly through radio, TV, print, digital, social media and earned media.

Expertise: Marian has more than a decade of experience in event planning and management of events producing galas, conferences, festivals and fashion shows both locally and internationally. She has managed large scale events including Taco Tour on Lake Street, Minneapolis Cinco de Mayo and the Lake Street Festival, attracting thousands of participants.
